WHAT’S THE HISTORY OF THE THEATRE?
Ashland Theatre originally opened its doors by featuring "Sitting Pretty" in 1948. It operated until the 1990s, after which it sat dark and unused until rejuvenation efforts began over a decade later. In 2013, owners Jean and AD Whittaker donated the Theatre to the Town of Ashland. It operated in "pop-up mode" from 2014-2016. In 2017, a complete renovation overhaul of the Theatre began. Ashland Theatre officially opened December 26, 2018. Ashland Theatre is operated by the Ashland Theatre Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

HOW MUCH ARE MOVIE TICKETS?
Matinee (before 4pm): $7.00
Adult: $10.00
Seniors 65 and older: $8.00
Children 3 to 11: $8.00
Student with ID: $8.00
Active Military with ID: $8.00

WHERE CAN I BUY TICKETS?
Tickets can be purchased online at this link. The Box Office will open 1 hour before every showtime. You can buy tickets for any current or future film at our box office - we cannot guarantee availability.  Patrons must have tickets in hand or a booking reference number in order to gain admission.

WHERE ARE MY SEATS?
The majority of our events are general admission. Our seating chart can be found here.

WHAT ARE THE SHOWTIMES?
Each movie has a different length, but we do try to maintain some consistency in our schedule while allowing us to clean and staff our theatre between screenings.  Please see our full schedule on our ticketing page here.

WHAT IS YOUR COVID-19 POLICY?
As of March 2022, masks are recommended inside the theatre in common spaces. Concerts or other live events might have different policies. Please call us to inquire about specific events.

DO YOU HAVE CONCESSIONS?
Yes, a variety of snacks and drinks are available, including popcorn, candy, Pepsi products, and a selection of adult beverages.

CAN I BRING IN MY OWN SNACKS?
No, outside food and drinks are not permitted inside the Theatre. For more information on Theatre policies, please visit our House Policies page.

WHERE CAN I PARK?
Ashland has plenty of street parking and several public lots. Please visit the parking information for the town found here.
Disabled persons parking is available behind the Theatre along Robinson Street.

CAN I PAY USING A CREDIT CARD?
Yes, we accept credit/debit cards at our Concession Stand and Box Office.

ARE GIFT CARDS AVAILABLE?
Yes, gift cards are available for purchase at the Theatre.

CAN I RENT THE THEATRE OR MARQUEE OR BOTH?
Yes, please visit our rentals page for more information.

DO YOU HAVE WHEELCHAIR SEATING?
Yes, wheelchair accessible seating is available at the Theatre. The Ashland Theatre lobby, concessions area, and main auditorium are wheelchair accessible. We are a 70 year old building so seating is limited. Call ahead so we can be sure to save you space.

We are always looking for volunteers to join our Docent team! Our Docents perform various front of house duties, such as operating Concessions, and acting as ushers and floor staff. Read more about becoming a Docent here.

We are in the midst of our seat sponsorship campaign! Sponsor a seat today and leave a lasting impression on Ashland Theatre with a personalized inscription that will be displayed for the life of the seat. Read more about seat sponsorships here.

As a nonprofit organization, all donations to Ashland Theatre are tax-deductible. Checks can be made out to Ashland Theatre Foundation and mailed to 205 England Street, Ashland, VA 23005 or visit our donation page here.

CAN I REFUND OR SWAP MY TICKETS FOR ANOTHER MOVIE SCREENING?
We do not issue refunds but in the event that you are unable to attend, and let us know in advance, we will apply the balance to a future performance. There are no refunds or exchanges on past events.

Tickets purchased through Fandango cannot be refunded or swapped. Tickets that have been purchased at the Box Office cannot be refunded if lost or stolen.

ALL CONCERT AND LIVE PERFORMANCE TICKETS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.
