Announcing the 1950’s Monthly Movie Series,
all tickets just 75¢ thanks to Dominion Energy!
The Ashland Theatre started the monthly classic film series in August of 2023 with twelve films from 1948, the year the Ashland Theatre opened. A second series was announced the following year, with classic films from 1949.
“We are thrilled that we can return to the original spirit of the series, with tickets priced at 75¢thanks to a tremendous gift from Dominion Energy.” said Executive Director Courtney F. Caldwell. “It is wonderful to present the opportunity for the community to experience these films on the big screen as they were intended to be viewed.”
1950 was a banner year for cinema, with titles that remain revered today, including Sunset Boulevard, All About Eve, Born Yesterday, and Harvey. Actors included in the series range from Jimmy Stewart to Fred Astaire, Bette Davis to Judy Holliday, Rock Hudson, Humphrey Bogart, Barbara Stanwyck, Marilyn Monroe, and many more.
The full line-up lineup is below. All showings begin at 7PM. Tickets for Sunset Boulevard on September 15 are on sale now! Subsequent showings will go on sale one week prior to the showtime.
