The Ashland Theatre Announces 2026 Free Movie Monday Summer Series

All tickets will be free, two showtimes each Monday

Ashland, VA (May 12, 2026) – The Ashland Theatre is pleased to announce the return of its annual Free Movie Monday Summer Series, offering ten weeks of complimentary family-films.  This program is made possible through the continued support of Rappahannock Electric Cooperative.

“We were blown away by the response to last summer’s Free Movie Monday series, with an incredible4,512 tickets booked over ten weeks.” said Executive Director Courtney F. Caldwell.  “We are so happy to once again have the opportunity to make the series free thanks to Rappahannock Electric Cooperative.  Our Theatre is a community destination and should be enjoyed by everyone.”

The 2026 summer series will include family-favorite films, such as Sing, Shrek 2, and wraps up with the live action How to Train Your Dragon.  

Casey Hollins, from REC added, “Rappahannock Electric Cooperative (REC) is proud to once again sponsor the Free Summer Family Movie Series making it easy for families to come together and enjoy high-quality, no-cost entertainment in the communities we serve. It’s one more way we’re delivering value beyond the electric bill and investing in the places our members call home.”

 The series will run from Monday June 8 through Monday August 10, with showtimes at 10AM and 2PMeach week.  Free tickets will be available to reserve at 5PM the night before each film through the Ashland Theatre website.
