ASHLAND, VA — The Ashland Theatre Foundation is proud to host a special Alzheimer’s Awareness Event designed to educate, inspire, and support individuals and families impacted by Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. The event will take place on Thursday June 25 at 6:30 pm at the historic Ashland Theatre and will feature a screening of the award-winning film Still Alice, followed by a community conversation with local experts.
Following the screening, guests are invited to participate in a panel discussion featuring:
· Jaime Smiley– Certified Dementia Practitioner
· Melanie Stensrud – Volunteer, Community Education for the Alzheimer’s Association
· Letitia Edwards – Senior Citizen Advocate
The panel will provide insight into Alzheimer’s disease, caregiving, available resources, and ways our community can support those affected by memory loss and dementia.
